Broncos defensive back Perrish Cox talked briefly today about his arrest last week.
“I really can’t speak on what was going on,” Cox said after the team’s conditioning workout. “It happened and hopefully it will be over soon.”
Cox was arrested and jailed overnight last week on a sexual assault charge stemming from a complaint filed Oct. 28 with Lone Tree police.
Details of the case have been sealed by a Douglas County judge to protect the victim.
Broncos interim head coach Eric Studesville talked privately Saturday with Cox, then had the rookie cornerback meet with the team captains before deciding to play him Sunday against the Cardinals.
Cox rotated with veteran Andre’ Goodman at the cornerback spot opposite Champ Bailey.
“I can’t say much about it, but I do appreciate all my teammates and my coaches and everybody who was behind me while all this was going on,” Cox said. “I want to help them the best way I can and not focus on that, just focus on the task at hand. They’ve been there, every day.”
