An armed robber hit a bank in Fountain this morning, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery happened about 9 a.m. at the People’s National Bank, 6830 Mesa Ridge Parkway, according to a Fountain Police Department media release.

The robber, who pointed a gun at a teller, wore all black clothing, including a jacket with a hood and a bandana to cover the face, police said.

The robber, carrying the stolen cash in a black duffle bag, fled the bank on foot. No one was injured.

Officers arrived at the bank and tried to track the robber using a police dog. The robber’s track ended near Snefels and Woodstock streets, police said.

Officers conducted a neighborhood sweep but the robber was not found.
