An Edgewater man was arrested on suspicion of attempted kidnapping after police said he tried to pull an 8-year-old girl from a King Soopers.
The man, who told police his name was Abraham Rodriguez-Rodriguez, 37, was seen in the grocery store at 1700 Sheridan Blvd. in Edgewater about 7:40 p.m. A woman there said he tried to grab the child but ran when confronted.
Two hours later, the man returned to retrieve a cellphone he dropped as he left the store, police said.
Security guards recognized him and called police, who arrested him.
