DENVER—An Aurora police officer who authorities accuse of street racing is undergoing an internal affairs investigation.
KUSA-TV in Denver reports 38-year-old officer Jason Pray is charged with speeding, engaging in a speed contest, engaging in an exhibition of speed, reckless driving and reckless endangerment after allegedly racing another man in March. Authorities say he and the other man both were going 81 mph in a 40 mph zone before they crashed.
KUSA reports Pray also is charged with two counts of child abuse because he had two children in his vehicle at the time.
Pray has been assigned to a patrol unit while the investigation continues.
Pray declined to comment when reached by KUSA on Thursday.
