GREELEY, Colo.—Officials say a Greeley firefighter gave out copies of firefighter certification exams but there’s no indication he sold them for money.

The head of the state Division of Fire Safety, Kevin Klein, said Thursday that Lt. Roger Moore gave out versions of the current test.

Klein said the state’s firefighter training and certification programs have been suspended for now, but they’ll be phased back in with computer-based testing system and division proctors.

Greeley fire chief Duane McDonald said Moore has been placed on paid leave as the state investigates. He told the Greeley Tribune that Moore gave out old copies of the tests to help firefighters prepare for the exam but says no one cheated on the test.

McDonald said the lieutenant works as a proctor with the state certification program.
