Popular Osborne passes away.

Bo Osborne, one of the most popular players from Denver’s minor-league baseball era, died April 15 in Woodstock, Ga.

In 1960, Osborne, who played first base, was a key player in leading the Bears to the American Association regular-season title with an 88-66-1 record.

He led the team with a league-leading 34 home runs, tied for the league lead in RBIs with 119 and his .342 batting average also led the league.

Sandra Osborne, Bo Osborne’s wife of 56 years, said he died from complications from diabetes. Osborne, who also played with the Bears from 1965-67, was 75.
