DR Horton has purchased finished lots in Water Valley, a 1,500-acre master planned community located in Windsor, and plans to begin building models from its 7 Diamond Collection in the next few weeks, Water Valley officials said today.

The national homebuilder, which has its Colorado office in the Denver Tech Center, plans to offer the homes from the upper $300,000s to the upper $400,000s.

Five models have received approval for construction by the end of the summer.

Martin Lind, president of Water Valley Land Co., said DR Horton’s announcement is a sign that things are looking up for the housing market.

“DR Horton is a wonderful complement to our community,” said Lind. “They have an impeccable reputation.”

Currently there are approximately 1,100 residences in Water Valley. The first home was built there in 1996.

The community will eventually have 2,800 homes.

Water Valley has been recognized by Where To Retire Magazine as one of the Top 100 Master Planned Communities in the nation several times in the past 10 years.

According to Water Valley, several other local builders have model homes for sale in the planned community including Aspen Homes, Stonewater Builders, H&O Homes and Landmark Homes.
