GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—A Mesa County judge has delayed the trial of former District Attorney Myrl Serra after lawyers said they have not had time to review the evidence.

District Judge David Bottger said the only way for Serra to get a fair trial is to allow his attorneys more time to go over emails and other electronic evidence stored on a computer hard drive.

Serra is accused of forcible unlawful sexual contact with a female employee.

According to the Montrose Daily Press, Serra’s trial on a separate charge of violating a restraining order, bond conditions and harassment is still set for Aug. 29.
