DES MOINES, Iowa — With Republican presidential candidates and the national press corps descending on Iowa for tonight’s presidential debate and Saturday’s straw poll, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin announced Wednesday that she would “jump back on the bus” to visit the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines — although it was unclear when she would show up.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the current leader in the GOP presidential nomination race, is scheduled to campaign at the fairgrounds today. U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty are due there Friday.
