GREELEY, Colo.—Colorado oil and gas regulators have approved rules that give energy producers more leeway in how they drill horizontal wells in northern Colorado.
Oil and gas operators including Noble Energy Inc., Anadarko Petroleum Corp., and Encana Oil and Gas Inc. told the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission that the proposed amendments would expedite drilling and eliminate countless hearings before the commission.
According to the Greeley Tribune ( ) the rules would apply to Weld, Larimer and Boulder counties.
