Greg Creighton has been named president of Smashburger, where he will take on an expanded role in business strategy, the Denver-based company announced today.

In addition, the company announced several other promotions and the hiring of two vice presidents.

Creighton was previously the chief operating officer of the company.

The two new vice presidents are Chris Chang, who will be senior vice president of finance and strategy, and Doug Thielen who will be vice president of communications.

Jeremy Morgan has been promoted to senior vice president of Marketing and Consumer Insights. He previously served as vice president of strategy.

Max Sheets was promoted to senior vice president of real estate. He formerly was vice president of real estate.

The firm said that Doug Branigan, senior vice president of franchising has taken on expanded responsibility and will now lead franchise sales and relations.

Smashburger, a “better burger” restaurant, currently has 115 restaurants nationwide and says it is on target to have more than 500 stores in the next few years.Howard Pankratz: 303-954-1939 or hpankratz@denverpost.com.
