A Mexican restaurant in Larimer Square will be closed for lunch today, after a small kitchen fire this morning, but the eatery should be open for dinner.
A kitchen fryer at Tamayo, 1400 Larimer St., sparked the fire, which was quickly put out by the restaurant’s sprinkler system, said Lt. Phil Champagne, a Denver Fire Department spokesman.
Firefighters were called to the scene, but the fire was already out. No one was injured.
A Tamayo staffer said the kitchen is being cleaned up and Tamayo should be ready to serve dinner this evening.
