Elway’s, the uber popular Cherry Creek and downtown Denver steak houses, will open another outlet at Denver International Airport.
DIA spokeswoman Jenny Schiavone confirmed that Elway’s was selected through a request for proposal for an airport concessions contract.
“We’re currently engaged in contract negotiations and, once those negotiations have been finalized, we will bring the contract before City Council for approval.”
Elway’s co-owners are long-time restaurateur Tim Schmidt and former Broncos great John Elway, Colorado’s most famous citizen.
The DIA Elway’s is expected to operate under a licensing agreement, much like the arrangement with the Elway’s in The Ritz Carlton Denver where The Ritz hires staff and Elway’s Cherry Creek executive chef Tyler Wiard approves the menu.
Elway’s is expecting to open a third outlet on or about Nov. 21 inside The Lodge at Vail.
