An armed robber who hit a Central City casino and tried to shoot a police officer has been found guilty by a Gilpin County jury.
Randy Steven Keesee, 45, faces a sentence of up to 94 years after being convicted Wednesday of several felonies, according to the Jefferson County district attorney’s office.
Keesee had a handgun April 3 when he robbed a cashier at the Famous Bonanza Casino in Central City of $28,000, prosecutors said. Keesee got in a black Audi and drove into a parking garage at the Golden Gate Casino in Black Hawk.
In the garage, Keesee fired at a police officer, but his gun malfunctioned, the district attorney’s office said. Keesee was wounded by the officer.
