SALT LAKE CITY—Authorities in central Utah are searching for two natural-gas pipeline workers who disappeared four days ago.

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office says Mark Widegren (WID’-a-grin) and Brian Axe were last seen at a Price steakhouse Saturday night.

Widegren and Axe lived at a crew camp in remote Nine Mile Canyon, where a search is under way.

Sheriff’s deputies say the 28-year-olds are friends and coworkers from Grand Junction, Colo., who work for the pipeline subcontractor W.C. Striegel.

The men were last seen driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee with Colorado license plates.

Sheriff’s Deputy Wally Hendricks says the Price steakhouse is the last place the men used their credit cards. They left the restaurant at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
