GREELEY, Colo.—Weld County commissioners are opting for a mail ballot election for this year’s primary election.

Clerk and Recorder Steve Moreno said Monday the move will save the county about $100,000.

Moreno says the use of mail ballots will avoid the need to hire up to 400 judges to staff vote centers.

The county will have six service centers for people who want to use touch screen voting machines.
