After Denver plays host to the women’s NCAA Final Four this year, Boulder will welcome early-round games next year. The NCAA announced Monday that the University of Colorado will host first- and second-round games in Boulder in 2013.

This year’s Final Four will be played at the Pepsi Center on April 1 and April 3.

Next year, CU and Stanford will be the only first-round hosts from the Pac-12. Those games will play out March 23 and March 25 or March 24 and March 26, 2013. The dates will be determined by the NCAA in June.

The list of first-round sites includes Baton Rouge, La.; Boulder; College Park, Md.; College Station, Texas; Columbus, Ohio; Durham, N.C.; Iowa City, Iowa; Knoxville, Tenn.; Louisville, Ky.; Lubbock, Texas; Newark, Del.; Queens, N.Y.; Spokane, Wash.; Stanford, Calif.; Storrs, Conn.; and Waco, Texas.

The NCAA also announced the four regional sites. They are Norfolk, Va.; Oklahoma City; Spokane, Wash.; and Trenton, N.J.

Western State hires Clevenger.  Western State College has named Jeremy Clevenger as its first women’s soccer coach.

Clevenger was on the staff of the inaugural seasons for men’s and women’s soccer at Fort Hays State last season. He was responsible for start-up of the programs, recruiting, travel and practice.

Clevenger will start no later than March 1.

Garret named best of breed. Garret, a 4-year-old Irish wolfhound bred by Karen Goodell of Colorado Springs, won best in breed at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show in New York City.

More than 2,000 entries in 185 breeds and varieties were at the 136th Westminster.
