LONGMONT — Audrey Warden has fought disability, domestic violence and now she’s fighting her property manager to keep one of the few things in life that brings her joy – her cat Millie.

Warden has difficulty walking and often relies on a wheelchair or walker. She has severe rheumatoid arthritis and is almost fully deaf.

Gloria Lutz, the property manager at Grandview Meadows Apartments in Longmont, told Warden she has to pay a $400 pet deposit, $250 pet fine, and $25-per-month pet rent.

Living on disability payments of $925 a month, Warden can barely afford cat food.
