COMMERCE CITY, Colo.—Commerce City police investigating a report of a missing baby now suspect the child is dead.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says the child’s 22-year-old mother, Sharrieckia Trinette Page, is being held on suspicion of child abuse resulting in death. Bond has been set at $100,000. Jail records don’t indicate whether she has a lawyer who could comment on her behalf.
The Denver Post reports () the Colorado Department of Human Services, Division of Child Welfare, has opened a child fatality review in the case, indicating that child welfare workers had previous contact with the family.
