JOHNSON CITY, Tenn.—East Tennessee State University has been officially designated as an Olympic training site for weightlifting by the United States Olympic Committee.
The school said in a news release Wednesday it will recruit men and women who aspire to compete at the Olympic level. Those selected will be admitted to the university and will enroll as full-time students.
The athletes also will participate in the ETSU Weightlifting Club, a club sport.
