DENVER—Douglas County sheriff’s officials say a 19-year-old Chaparral High School student is facing two charges, after guns were found in a student’s vehicle on campus this month.

KMGH-TV in Denver reports () Markkus DeHerrera was arrested Monday on charges of possession of a weapon on school grounds and unlawful conduct on public property. He is free on a $3,000 bond.

Sheriff’s officials found the guns May 7. That same day, police in Parker found a knife in each of two student vehicles at Legend High School. Sheriff’s officials say the weapons may have been related to previous friction between students off campus.

Authorities searched the vehicles after receiving a tip about a potential fight.

Meanwhile, sheriff’s officials say a 16-year-old boy, whose name wasn’t released, also faces a harassment case.
