Denver has once again reached record high heat.

Today, Denver’s official high temperature reached 98 degrees, beating out the previous record of 97 degrees marked in 2007.

The heat, along with dry and gusty wind has much of the state under a red flag warning — including areas of the High Park Fire west of Fort Collins.

Monday Denver will once again reach for another record with an expected high of 99 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The record high in Denver for June 18 was set in 1990 with a high of 99 degrees.

The rest of the week, temperatures will continue in the upper 80s and 90s with no signs of precipitation this week.

A red flag warning will again be in place Monday for much of the state including Larimer and Park counties where crews are battling wildfires.
