BOULDER — Crews searching in the foothills west of the National Center for Atmospheric Research for a missing University of Colorado student found the body of a male Friday evening.
Sgt. Jason Oehlkers, spokesman for the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, said search-and-rescue crews found the body at about 7:15 p.m., a mile and a half west of NCAR. The body was found at the base of a steep, rocky ridge, he said.
Earlier Friday, Boulder police reached out for the public’s help in finding CU student Nicholas Marc Valore, 19, who was reported missing Thursday. A classmate called CU police Thursday afternoon to report that he hadn’t seen his friend in classes all week, which was highly unusual, according to a news release.
Oehlkers could not confirm that the body was that of the student, but he said search efforts had concluded.
