 The average cost of a gallon of gasoline in Denver on Sunday was $3.52, 14.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

However the cost of a gallon of gasoline in Denver was 10 cents above the national average of $3.42 a gallon.

Cost of gasoline in Denver on Sunday was 8.2 cents a gallon higher than the same day a year ago. The national average of $3.42 a gallon Sunday was 24.7 cents per gallon lower than the same day a year ago.

Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for said he expects gasoline prices to rise.

“Those who stuck around the low gas price party expecting it to last have realized they’re out in the cold,” said DeHaan. “Oil prices are well off their recent lows, and we’ll likely continue to see the national average rise in response.”

DeHaan said most regions should see prices rising, while the Rockies may see any increase take considerably longer to arrive.
