About a mile of Colorado Highway 82 over Independence Pass reopened at about 10:30 p.m. after it was closed by a mudslide for about three hours Tuesday night, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The area is on the switchbacks in the road east of the summit.

The link between Twin Lakes and Aspen was closed at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday. Showers were falling in the area, according to the state highway department.
