DENVER—Police say a hostage has been released unharmed and two suspects are in custody after a 6-hour armed standoff with officers at a Denver RadioShack store.
Police Chief Robert White says one or both suspects fired a weapon during the standoff Friday but no one was injured.
White says a robbery was reported at the store shortly before 10 a.m., and officers arrived while two suspects were still inside. The standoff ended at about 4 p.m.
Police haven’t released the names of the hostage or the suspects.
People in nearby businesses were told to stay indoors and a portion of busy Colfax Avenue was closed.
RadioShack released a statement saying the company was “praying for a safe resolution.” Company officials declined further comment.
