Montrose, off to a 13-0 start this season, has taken over the top spot in the Class 4A baseball coaches poll.
The school had been No. 2 last week and moved up following former No. 1 D’Evelyn’s loss to unranked Wheat Ridge. Montrose went 3-0 last week with wins over Fruita Monument, Montezuma-Cortez and Durango.
The 4A poll added Air Academy (No. 7), Valor Christian (No. 8) and Mesa Ridge (No. 10) this week.
The top of the 5A poll, Nos. 1-6, stayed that same from last week. That meant Cherry Creek remained atop the ranking.
That poll did add two new teams: No. 7 Ralston Valley and No. 10 Monarch.
