FORT CARSON, Colo.—Fort Carson is saying goodbye to one of its top commanders.
A retreat ceremony on Thursday will honor Brig. Gen. Ryan Gonsalves, deputy commanding general for maneuvers of the 4th Infantry Division.
Gonsalves’ next job is director of operations, readiness and mobilization for the Army’s deputy chief of staff at the Pentagon. He has been at Fort Carson since November 2011.
Gonsalves’ replacement is Col. John Thomson, who is in line for promotion to a one-star brigadier general.
