Lennar Homes has not one but TWO grand openings to tour today in the town of Castle Rock – 19th “Best Place to Live” in the entire country, according to CNN Money Magazine. You can pick your setting from one neighborhood east of I-25 on Founders that’s walking distance to a popular Sage Canyon Elementary and a master-planned park and pool; or a second that’s two miles down Plum Creek from Castle Rock’s western-styled downtown and dining, that has big sites wrapped around sensational views of Douglas County’s buttes and of the Rockies beyond.

The latter is Crystal Valley Ranch – tucked onto the side of Quarry Mesa, where Lennar has sites that average just under a quarter acre – some as large as 16,000 square feet. Right now there are still numbers of walkout basement possibilities that have already drawn three buyers to Lennar’s ranch plans, well in advance of today’s grand opening. But the model opening today, a 3,057-foot Savannah, is a family sized 2-story that shows how well this would work as a family setting, as well.

“If you’re that family that wants plenty of activities, you’re probably looking at Terrain,” says Lennar’s Rod Dutcher, who’ll welcome you at that new model in Crystal Valley Ranch. However, Crystal Valley Ranch has plenty to keep kids as well as adults occupied: A pool center over the ridge; and Rhyolite Regional Park, just up the hill, with a trailhead into 3.2 miles of singletrack bike trail up the side of the mesa, along with tennis court and additional paved trail.

In like manner, the bike-minded family that likes Crystal Valley should probably take a detour to Castle Rock’s northeast side and see Terrain, as well. “The pool opens June 1,” notes Lennar’s Mary Connelly; “and we’re right on the Front Range Trail. Someday you’ll be able to bike from here all the way to New Mexico, or north to Wyoming.”

But right away you’ll find a selection of homes headed for early delivery, despite the rapid pre-sales. At Terrain, you can tour two models – as well as a Savannah spec home, four bedrooms and 3½ baths, with a walkout basement and big deck on a site that backs to open space. It’ll deliver by summer, priced at $511,625.

You’ll find it loaded with ‘Everything’s Included’ upgrades – full hardwood on the main floor, quartz counters, and Home Automation features. To reach either community, head south on I-25; for Terrain, exit at Meadows/Founders Parkway and head east three miles to Rising Sun. For Crystal Valley, continue on I-25 to Plum Creek Parkway; turn east to the first right on Wilcox (frontage road), and head south two miles to Crystal Valley Pkwy, then east a mile.
