STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A Stagecoach couple involved in an apparent homicide and attempted suicide early Wednesday that resulted in the death of their 9-year-old son were in the process of separating, according to Routt County Court documents.
According to court documents, Michael Kirlan called 911 shortly before 3 a.m. and reported that his son, Asher Lesyshen-Kirlan, had been shot but still was breathing.
Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies say they think Asher’s mother, Lisa Marie Lesyshen, 45, shot the boy before shooting herself. Her condition is unknown.
After reporting that his son had been shot, Kirlan told 911 operators that his wife was upstairs and he could hear her “telling him to come and kill her,” the warrant states.
