The audience was mesmerized, and the critics were kind to the 113-year-old ensemble, “which has seldom sounded greater,” according to New York Times reviewer James R. Oestreich. The Bravo! Vail Music Festival gets the show this weekend with Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Chorus providing the vocals for Verdi’s moving take on the Roman Catholic funeral Mass.
