Saturday. When the Philadelphia Orchestra performed Verdi’s “Requiem” last October at Carnegie Hall, it was a highlight of the year for both the orchestra and the venue. The audience was mesmerized, and the critics were kind to the 113-year-old ensemble, “which has seldom sounded greater,” according to New York Times reviewer James R. Oestreich. The Bravo! Vail Music Festival gets the show this weekend with Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Chorus providing the vocals for Verdi’s moving take on the Roman Catholic funeral Mass. Angela Meade is the soprano, with mezzo Karen Cargill, tenor John Mac Master and bass-baritone John Relyea. 6 p.m. Saturday, Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, Vail. $27-$115. 877-812-5700 or
