ERIE, Colo.—The Erie Board of Trustees has voted to reimburse $10,000 in legal expenses Mayor Joe Wilson incurred defending himself against an allegation that he violated the town’s ethics code after Wilson was cleared by a special prosecutor last week.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera (), questions arose after Wilson tried to evict a tenant from a home he manages in order to sell it.
The tenant, Karol Hopper, called police on the mayor and he was served with a restraining order.
Wilson has said his dealings with Hopper are a private business matter and have nothing to do with his office.
