With a colossal show from atop the Capitol Records building, performance on “Late Night With Jimmy Kimmel” felt like a grand finale. The long road of mysterious , , changed band names and had come to an end on Tuesday, the same day as the release of the much-anticipated

Fans at the Capitol Records building in Los Angeles caught two “Reflektor” tracks — the über intense “Flashbulb Eyes” and the dark and danceable “Afterlife.” The indie darlings (yes, they’re still on Merge) were at their best with Win Butler’s pleading, “Can we work it out,” and Regine Chassagne’s angelic backup vocals. U.S. fans waiting to see all of the action live might have to wait a minute. A Halloween show at the Palladium in Los Angeles is the only state-side show on the horizon, with the rest of the shows in November going to the U.K. and Paris. This week also saw Arcade Fire perform a live concert for NPR, which you can check out below.
