Taking from history. A man called Golden police Nov. 25 to report a smashed vending machine at Clear Creek Living History Park, 1020 11th St., Golden. He estimated losses of $30, the average amount of cash collected each week. Officers advised he collect from the machine more frequently.

Suspicious items found at playground. Golden police went to Little Hands Child Care Center, 17602 W. 14th Ave., Golden, on Nov. 25 in response to a report of a baggie containing foil and a black pen casing found in the playground area. The reporting party requested additional patrol out of concern of drug use in the area.

Charged confrontation. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies went to Buchanan Recreation Center, 32003 Ellingwood Trail, Evergreen, after the driver of an electric car said he was backing out as a man wearing earbuds walked nearby. The pedestrian yelled, “Watch it! You almost hit me!” A verbal confrontation ensued.

Employee dashes. Deputies went to La Carreta Restaurant, 9064 S. U.S. 285, east of Conifer, on Nov. 26, where multiple employees gave accounts of a former co-worker stealing propane grills, seafood and a cellphone before he was fired Nov. 15. The restaurant owner said he would hold the employee’s paycheck until items were returned.

Road rage. Deputies responded Nov. 26 to a road rage incident at 4990 Highway 73, Evergreen. Both drivers gave accounts of aggressive driving and harassment in the area of Three Sisters Open Space Park on Buffalo Park Road. Officers said both drivers were in the wrong.
