Police in Fort Collins are investigating two physical assaults that may be part of a recent string of assaults on women.

In one incident, a woman who had been jogging at about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 called police to say a man physically assaulted her. The incident happened near the 3000 block of West Elizabeth Street.

In the second incident, a woman who had been walking in the area of City Park Avenue and Baystone Drive called police at about 10:50 p.m. saying a man physically assaulted her.

Neither of the women had serious injuries, according to a news release from Fort Collins Police Services.

The report each woman gave matched the description of a man suspected of a string of other assaults.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, between the ages of 30 and 40 years old, and between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall. The man has a medium to slightly heavy build and short or shaved hair. The suspect may be driving a white, older model, four-door sport utility vehicle.

Police are encouraging women to be careful, especially after dark.

“Please consider traveling in groups, carrying a cell phone, remaining in well-traveled areas, and carrying a flashlight,” police suggested in their news release.

Anyone who comes in contact with the suspect, or witnesses an attack is asked to call 911 immediately.

Anyone with more information about the new incidents is asked to call Detective Mike Knudsen at 970-221-6558 or Crime Stoppers of Larimer County at 970-221-6868.
