A man and teenage girl were found dead and a woman critically injured in an Evans residence Thursday.

Evans Police Chief Rick Brandt told the Greeley Tribune a father and daughter were dead and girl’s mother wounded. All had gunshots to the head.

According to the Evans Police Department, officers and Weld County deputies were dispatched to the 2400 block of Marina Street at about 1:30 p.m. to do a welfare check after a man’s employer called in, advising that the man had missed work and was having personal issues.

When officers arrived on the scene, the sheriff’s office said, they were able to contact a woman who had severe head trauma.

She was transported by ambulance to North Colorado Medical Center. After a brief stay she was flown to Denver General Hospital with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head.

Evans police officers and Weld County deputies entered the residence and found a dead man and deceased juvenile female in an upstairs bedroom with apparent gunshot wounds.

The sheriff’s office said Thursday night that its investigation is on-going, adding the identification of victims will be released after notification of next of kin through the coroner’s office.

Investigators are asking for anyone who might have any information about this incident to call the Evans Police Department at 970-339-2441.
