Re: “Colorado’s concealed-carry law ain’t broke, so don’t ‘fix’ it,” Feb. 8 editorial.
While I agree with your editorial, I’m always amused that anybody quoting the “gun rights” section of the Colorado Constitution does not quote the entire section.
This is Section 13, in its entirety:
“The right of no person to keep and bear arms in defense of his home, person and property, or in aid of the civil power when thereto legally summoned, shall be called in question; but nothing herein contained shall be construed to justify the practice of carrying concealed weapons.”
I understand why gun-rights groups would remain silent about the last phrase, but I would think the people who are alarmed about the spread of guns would have brought this up.
Of course, itap too late now.
