Police in Colorado Springs are investigating after a man eating at a Red Lobster Tuesday night told employees there that he was feeling unwell after being stabbed in his side several hours earlier.

Officers were called out to the restaurant at about 9:30 p.m. to investigate, police said.

The victim, a 39-year-old man, told police he had been stabbed several hours earlier somewhere near the Citadel Mall.

“(He) told a member of the staff at the restaurant that he wasn’t feeling well and needed assistance,” police said.

The man was taken to a hospital where police say he is being treated for his injuries.

“At this time he is stable and his injuries are not considered to be life threatening,” police said. “A limited degree of information about the assault has been obtained from the victim and at this time no suspect information has been developed.”

Police said their investigation is ongoing.
