More snow was expected in the mountains Sunday on what is, for some resorts, the last day of the ski season.

The National Weather Service said additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are possible at higher elevations overnight and through Sunday; up to 4 inches in valleys and foothills.

There is a chance of scattered snow returning to the south part of the metro area on Sunday but any accumulation would be on grassy areas.

Temperatures are expected to finally warm up by Tuesday, but another storm system could be coming in on Friday.

Scattered light showers continued on the Front Range on Saturday, then turned to a rain-snow mix Saturday night.

A tornado watch was in effect for Logan,Phillips, Sedgwick and Washington counties until 8p.m. Saturday. The weather service alert warned of possible tornadoes, large hail and winds up to 70 mph.

At about 2:15 p.m., the Colorado State Patrol reported a tornado on the ground 11 miles south of Yuma, but there were no reports of damage.

Interstate 70 was closed for more than a hour west of Denver on Saturday morning, but was completely reopened by 8:45 a.m.
