Fire crews in Fort Collins are battling a three-alarm fire at an apartment complex on Wednesday morning.

The Poudre Fire Authority says no one was injured in the blaze on the 1700 block of Welch Street, which was reported at about 5:30 a.m.

Officials say the blaze has left the roof of a building in the complex compromised and that heavy fire is spreading through the attic.

Photos from the scene showed heavy smoke pouring from the structure.

Authorities did not immediately say what ignited the fire.
