A bounty of beautiful butterflies
The pipevine swallowtail, red admiral, viceroy, painted lady and monarch are on the “V.I.B.” guest list for the “Butterflies at Chatfield” exhibit, recently opened at the Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield. The annual partnership with the Butterfly Pavilion is a “seasonal habitat experience” in a garden boasting more than 50 indigenous local plants. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily with the last entry at 3 p.m. A $5 parking fee per non-member vehicle includes general admission. A separate admission ticket of $4, $2 members, free for children 2 and under, gets you into the butterfly house. (The butterfly house will be closed June 2, July 7, 20 and 28, Aug. 4 and 30).
