Cooler temperatures and unsettled weather is expected in Denver on Friday as a weak, upper level cold front moves into the Front Range and across the state.
In the city, forecasters expect temperatures to top out near 64 degrees. The National Weather Service in Boulder calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms until 1 p.m. before the probability of storms increases later in the afternoon.
“Brief, heavy rain and small hail will be possible with the stronger storms,” the weather service said in a bulletin. “In the mountains, there will be some snow with accumulations up to 4 inches above 10,000 feet.”
Storms will move out of the area by early Friday evening, the weather service said.
Temperatures are expected to be warmer from Saturday through Tuesday with a slight chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms each day.
