Robert Basevitz, a former teacher at Florence High School, has filed a lawsuit against the school over religious activities. This image from Facebook, which shows some of the activities, is part of the lawsuit. (Handout image)

Re: “Lawsuit claims illegal religious activities at Florence High School,” May 27 news story.

I have great respect for former teacher Robert Basevitz’s courage in standing up to “Pastor Randy” Pfaff and the officials at Florence High School.

Pfaff’s Cowboy Church turned a Sunday rental of the cafeteria into a transformation of the school’s focus from education to indoctrination.

Daily prayer around the flag pole, classes in Pfaff’s interpretation of the Bible, and P.A. announcements during the day certainly become more than informative in short order.

The Cowboy Church is not the only institution that believes God was involved in the creation of this great country, and I am certain Pfaff does not speak for all.

Mount up, Pastor, and ride off into the sunset.

William Hagen, Dacono
