Denver’s T.J. Miller has landed a pilot on HBO.

From Denver standup to “Silicon Valley” and now, his own series on the premium network. HBO has ordered a pilot for The Gorburger Show, a comedy puppet talk show based on his webseries for Funny Or Die (and previously YouTube). Miller will serve as producer as well as voicing the puppet Gorburger.

The premise: Gorburger is a giant English-speaking blue space monster who has invaded a Japanese morning talkshow and held the staff hostage. He interviews celebrities and musicians, trying to figure out what it means to be human, while trying to not to kill and eat them along the way.

The pilot joins another successful web series picked up by HBO,

Variety reports Moby, Ed Helms and Johnny Knoxville are booked for “The Gorburger Show” pilot, which is in production in L.A., along with musical guests Danny Brown and Health, who are collaborating, plus Eagles of Death Metal.

In the case of “High Maintenance,” six new episodes will air exclusively on HBO, and the first 19 episodes, which originally premiered on Vimeo, will be available later this year on HBO, HBO Now and HBO Go.
