Not so fast. When drummer Patrick Carney isn’t busy , he’s playing bass for his side project, aptly named Drummer.
Not to be outdone, singer-guitarist Dan Auerbach has teamed up with renowned music producer Richard Swift and a team of hired guns (Leon Michels, Homer Steinweiss, Nick Movshon, Kenny Vaughan and Mariachi Flor De Toloache) to create a new band of misfits, the Arcs. Tonally, Auerbach’s latest project would fit perfectly on the “Dazed and Confused” soundtrack, sporting a groovy ’70s vibe and smooth vocals that might have sealed the deal for protagonist Mitchy Kramer.
Listen to the first single, “Stay in My Corner,” from the album “Yours, Dreamily,” which is scheduled for a Sept. 4 release on Nonesuch. A supporting tour will be announced shortly and Reverb will update as dates become available. In the meantime, fans can purchase the Mayweather/Pacquiao inspired 7-inch of “Stay in My Corner” in shops as of today.
