Authorities in Jefferson County are searching for two suspects caught on surveillance video in an apparent attempted burglary last month.

The county sheriff’s office says on May 24 the suspects rang the doorbell of a home on the 3800 block of S. Miller Court.

“The homeowner chose to ignore the door bell and the suspects went to the back door and kicked it in,” the office said in a news release Wednesday. “When they saw the home owner they ran away.”

Authorities say the two appear to cover their hands before touching the front door or ringing the doorbell in an apparent attempt to conceal their fingerprints.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office tip line 303-271-5612.
