A vehicle wanted in connection with a Colorado Springs homicide investigation was found Tuesday in Cañon City, and the driver was arrested, officials said.
After a Cañon City police officer found a “suspicious vehicle” in a Walmart parking lot around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday that then left the scene, police discovered that the vehicle was stolen and wanted in connection with the homicide investigation, a news release said.
According to the release, another officer later found the vehicle at 15th Street and Royal Gorge Boulevard. Officers stopped the vehicle and took the driver, 22-year-old Joseph Tyler Kimsey, into custody.
Kimsey was wanted on seven warrants out of El Paso County for failure to appear on crimes including fraud, vehicle theft and “dangerous drugs,” the release said.
Kimsey was booked into the Fremont County Jail and is being held without bond.
