Re: “Colorado shies from big fix as proliferating people seek more water,” July 10 news story.
Is there any serious thought of requiring Front Range communities to recycle a significant proportion of their wastewater streams? The technology to treat domestic wastewater to drinking water is well-documented worldwide. Front Range communities should plan for the construction of wastewater recycling facilities so that less is needed from Western water basins, thus better ensuring adequate water supplies for decades to come and protecting the Western watershed ecosystems.
