The eastbound U.S. 6 flyover bridge to northbound I-25 will be closed this weekend from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, while crews do work on the structure’s expansion joints, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Throughout the weekend, crews will be replacing the expansion joint glands — the rubber strips that protect the bridge deck from intruding water, dirt and debris.
While this work is being done, eastbound U.S. 6 drivers wanting to travel north on I-25 will be directed south on I-25 to Alameda Avenue and then north on Santa Fe Drive to access northbound I-25.
In the coming weeks, similar work will be done on the westbound U.S. 6 southbound I-25 flyover bridge.
