
A look at five NHL rookies to watch for in the 2015-16 season.
WATCH:
1. Connor McDavid, C, Oilers.
He’s been dubbed “the next Sidney Crosby” by many and the best NHL prospect in 30 years by Wayne Gretzky, the greatest of them all. McDavid is 18.
2. Jack Eichel, C, Sabres.
He’s the 18-year-old american version of McDavid; captured the Hobey Baker award as a true freshman at Boston University last season.
3. Dylan Larkin, LW, Red Wings.
Was the second-leading scorer for michigan last season and named Big Ten freshman of the year. He’s 19 and from the 2014 draft.
4. Mikko Rantanen, W, Avalanche.
The next Finnish Flash is set to be the third 2015 draftee to go directly to the nhl, along with McDavid and Eichel.
5. Anthony Duclair/Max Domi, LW/C, Coyotes.
The two 2013 draftees are primed to begin their NHL careers in earnest with rebuilding arizona. Duclair was acquired from the New York Rangers in the Keith Yandle trade on March 1.
